Missions
Blood Secrets missions come in several types, with different requirements and different consequences for actions. Missions are in three categories, depending on their general nature.
Kill missions are very straightforward. Navigate through the level and kill the target. It is not required that you harm any others, but it will not affect the mission result if you do.
Exterminate missions required the character to kill every creature on all floors of the level.
Get missions require the character to navigate the level to obtain the target item. Harming the residents will not affect the mission outcome.
Rescue missions are similar to get missions, except that the character must find a person to rescue rather than a target item.
Capture missions are won by engaging the enemy and subduing them for at least one turn. This involves the use of paralysis, sleep, weaken, confuse or control attacks so that the target is prevented from acting for a turn. At low levels, these attack types may not be easy to come by; try buying a Cosh or, if that is unavailable or you do not have the skill to use it, buy a syringe/autohypo and suitable incapacitating ammunition from a laboratory equipment store.
Stealth missions differ from Combat missions as only the target must be harmed or taken. If any other resident of the level is killed, the mission will be classed as a fail or as a partial success if the objective is achieved. Otherwise, Assassinate missions are the equivalent of Kill missions, Steal missions are similar to Get missions. Kidnap missions are stealthy Capture missions, and Extract missions are undercover Rescue missions.
Social missions work very differently from the above mission types. In these missions, it is desirable that nobody be harmed. Unlike the above mission types, the residents will not at first be hostile to the character. Killing a resident will cause the mission to end in failure, as will a breakdown in negotiation.
Persuade missions involve the use of negotiation to convince the target of the character's argument. Negotiation missions are similar but involve higher-risk situations, where failure of negotiation will cause the residents to become hostile.
Broker missions work somewhat differently. The character will be given a certain amount of funds. The character must negotiate a contract, and may end the negotiation at any point they are able to pay, pocketing any cash that remains after the negotiation.
